The Bel Rae Ballroom was one of the most popular dance locations in Minnesota.
The Mounds View City Council couldn't decide on whether to spend $3 million to turn the old Bel Rae Ballroom into a community center, so city residents voted on the matter. The voters approved it. Though it's now a community center, it is still referred to as the Bel Rae Ballroom.
