Dreamland Ballroom
Little Rock, Arkansas
The Dreamland Ballroom was on the top (3rd) floor of the Taborian Hall building.
The ballroom had hot-pink walls.
During World War II, the USO (United Service Club) bought the building and turned all three floors into a club that served thousands of black soldiers from Camp Robinson and Stuttgart Air Base
Some of the entertainers who performed at the ballroom were Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, Redd Foxx and Sammie Davis.
Kerry McCoy purchased the building in 1991 for her company - Arkansas Flag & Banner, Inc. She was also successful in having the Taborian Hall building placed on the National Register of Historic Places. She is currently seeking funding to bring the Dreamland Ballroom back to life.
