The Dreamland Ballroom was on the second floor of the historic Jewell building on North 24th Street. From the 1920's to the 1960's, it was a popular venue for nationally prominent jazz musicians, such as Count Basie and Duke Ellington.

In 1983, the Jewell building was listed on the Nebraska Historical Register. The building has been restored and now has office space, several small businesses and two private apartments.
